Cunnane Drives in Two as Juniata Falls to Mary Washington
Huntingdon, Pa. – Juniata rallied with four runs in the eighth inning but fell to Mary Washington, 7-6 on Friday afternoon at Langdon Goodale Field.
Mary Washington built a 5-0 lead through four innings and extended it to 6-1 in the sixth. Juniata got on the board in the fifth as Jackson Cunnane scored, then added another in the sixth when Connor Blough scored on an error.
Juniata's biggest push came in the eighth inning. Cunnane delivered a two-RBI single, Ty Vickers scored on a passed ball, and Ethan Pfeffer tied the game with an RBI single.
Cunnane led the offense, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Pfeffer finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Blough scored two runs and added a hit and a walk.
Landon Blank recorded a hit and a run scored. Jace Irvin added a double, while Vickers scored a run and walked.
Juniata totaled seven hits and three walks.
On the mound, Connor Rohm allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits over five innings. Aedan Hrivnak pitched 1.1 innings, allowing one unearned run, and Tim Coleman tossed 2.2 innings, allowing one unearned run.
Mary Washington scored the go-ahead run in the ninth inning to win the game.
