Williamsport, Pa.- The Eagles traveled to Lycoming for a Sunday Doubleheader after losing the day prior by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, the Eagles would be swept in the series, losing 9-3 and 10-1 on Sunday.
GAME ONE:
The Eagles started out the scoring for the game as Jace Irvin reached first on an error, and a Landon Blank single advanced him to third. With two outs in the inning, Irvin saw his opportunity and stole home to put the Eagles ahead.
Hunter Thomas held the Warriors to a total of three runs through the first 15 outs. Connor Blough worked the count for a walk in the top of the sixth. Zach Johnston came to the plate one batter later and striped a double down the left field line to send Blough home and pull the game within one run.
A series of runs in the seventh would put the Warriors ahead 8-2. However, Jackson Cunnane came to the plate with other things in mind. Cunnane fouled off the first pitch before punishing the next pitch well over the right field wall to score the Eagles' final run of the game.
GAME TWO:
Game two started out well for the Eagles as Connor Blough led things off with a single to right field. Landon Blank was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. Blank advanced to second base as Blough was caught stealing before advancing to third base on a Jace Irivin single. Jackson Cunnane continued on his hot streak by knocking in a run through the left side, putting the Eagles ahead 1-0.
Connor Rohm started on the bump for the Eagles, holding the Warriors to a 1-1 game through the first three innings. Blank and others would continue to hit for the Eagles, but often ended up stranded as the Eagles worked in nine hits and four walks during game two.
Krieg Pierce finished things on a high note for the boys from Huntingdon as he went one and two-thirds scoreless to end the game.
The Eagles will play next on Tuesday at 3:30, returning home to Langdon-Goodale Field.
