Irvin and Johnston Named to Landmark All-Conference
Towson, MD - Jace Irvin and Zach Johnston were both named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. This marks both players first All-Conference selections of their careers.
Johnston put together a strong sophomore campaign for Juniata, proving to be one of the most consistent bats in the Eagles' lineup. Appearing in all 39 games, Johnston hit .358 on the season, collecting 49 hits in 137 at-bats. He drove in 32 runs, scored 30 times, and swiped 10 bases.
Johnston showed a knack for coming through in key moments, recording multiple hits in 16 games and driving in three or more runs in four different contests. His top offensive performance came in a 17-13 win over Moravian, where he went 4-for-6 with two RBIs and three stolen bases. He also delivered a 4-hit, 3-RBI outing in a win over St. Vincent late in the season.
Irvin was a steady presence behind the plate and a consistent contributor at the plate for Juniata throughout the 2025 season. The junior catcher played in 35 games, hitting .328 with 26 RBIs, 27 runs scored, and 5 stolen bases.
Irvin put together 10 multi-hit games on the year, including three 3-hit performances. He went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a double in a win over Shenandoah on Feb. 23, then followed with another 3-hit game against Thiel on Mar. 4. He delivered a standout performance at Catholic on Mar. 22, going 3-for-5 with three doubles and four RBIs. Irvin also tallied five RBIs in a two-game span at Elizabethtown on Apr. 12.
Defensively, Irvin anchored the Eagles behind the dish with a .997 fielding percentage in 291 total chances. He recorded 259 putouts, 31 assists, and just one error all season. Irvin threw out 11 would-be base stealers and added two pickoffs, while allowing just two passed balls over the course of the year.
