SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team lost a pair of games on the road at Scranton, 5-1 and 3-2, Saturday afternoon at Volpe Field.
Scranton got going early in game one, scoring two runs on an RBI-Double to left-center and a double down the right-field line to make it 3-0. Another RBI-double, this one to right, in the third made it 4-0.
A Scranton walk with the bases loaded in the fourth made it 5-0 Royals.
Michael Warren (New Berlin, Pa. / Mifflinburg Area) drew a walk with the bases loaded, and Dakotah Snyder (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg) crossed the plate to score the lone run for JC.
Game two saw both teams' pitchers come out locked in, as Sam Craig's (Mullica Hill, N.J. / Kingsway Regional) single to left-center in the top of the third was the first hit of the game.
In the top of the fifth with one out, Warren reached on a throwing error by the shortstop, and Craig blasted a ball over the wall in left to give JC their first lead of the day at 2-0.

The Royals managed to halve the Eagle lead in the bottom half of the inning, scoring a run on three hits while leaving two runners on base.
Scranton retook the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a sac fly to center followed by a double to left, which made it 3-2.
In the top of the seventh, Ben Raab (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy) reached on an error with one out, and Warren was hit by a pitch. But a fly-out and a strikeout ended the game as Scranton held on to take game two, 3-2.
Chase Alessandroni (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy) tossed 6.0 innings for JC while allowing five hits, three runs (one earned), with a walk and a strikeout.
The Eagles will host Scranton tomorrow, with the first pitch at 12:30.
