Men’s and women’s tennis complete sweep of Lancaster Bible by 9-0 scores

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Juniata College men’s and women’s tennis teams each defeated Lancaster Bible on the road 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. 

In the men’s match, Justin Wisniewski (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) and Bryce Morey (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) combined for an 8-0 sweep, as did freshmen Bryan Gregory (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Mike Lifshitz (Worcester, Mass./Worchester Academy. 

In singles, Juniata dominated with Elliot Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) taking down his competition at the No. 1 singles slot with scores of 6-2. 

In the women’s match, Cara Stough (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett) and Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) didn’t allow their foes to score and defeated them 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. The freshmen at No. 3 doubles, Jacklyn Renninger (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) and Tori Gray (York, Pa./Central York) defeated their competition 8-2. 

 In singles, Heather Waring (San Antonio, Texas/John Jay) swept her opponent with scores of 6-0 and Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) took away 6-0 and 6-2 wins at No. 2. 

Juniata will host Frostburg State on the Raffensperger Tennis Courts on Saturday, September 15, for 12:00 pm men’s and women’s matches.
