HUNTINGDON, Pa.- For the third time this season, a Juniata men's volleyball player has been named the Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week. The honors this week go to freshman setter Michael Young (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake Village).
Young led the Eagles to a pair of conference wins, including a 3-1 victory over #11 ranked Marymount University on Saturday. In that win, Young totaled 40 assists, adding five digs and three total blocks. Young followed with 19 assists, playing in just two sets, in a 3-0 sweep of Alvernia. In that match Juniata hit .387 as a team, the seventh time they have hit above .300 this season.
Young is averaging 11.09 assists per set in conference play. That ranks him second to Eastern Mennonite's Christian Taylor who has 11.20.
The Eagles play Thiel tomorrow night at Memorial Gymnasium. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
