SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's track & field team competed at the Susquehanna Indoor Challenge, Saturday.
In the field, Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed fifth in the shot put marking 13.69m and Daniel Fernandez (New Oxford, Pa. / New Oxford) placed 25th marking 10.86m. Fernandez placed 26th in the weight throw marking 10.76m while Phillips placed 28th marking 9.91m.
In the 5000m run, Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer) finished fourth with a time of 16:09.13. In the 800m run, Andy Meci (Woodstock, N.Y. / Onteora) finished eighth (2:03.23), Vinnie Caroselli (Upland, Pa. / Milton Hershey) finished 29th (2:10.65), and Steven Glodek (Amberton, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) finished 51st (2:26.00). In the 3000m run, Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) placed ninth with a time of 9:14.52 while Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa. / Science Leadership Academy) placed 11th coming in with a time of 9:19.01.
In the mile run, Caroselli finished 10th crossing the line at 4.40.30 and Glodek finished 36th with a time of 5:15.57. Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) placed 11th in the 60m hurdles finishing with a time of 9.43. In the 60m dash, Calvin Bembry II (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) finished 20th, clocking in at 7.54 while Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished 38th coming in with a time of 7.81. Gardner finished 19th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.80.
In the 4x200m relay the team of Bembry, Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / Saint John's Prep HS), Malcolm MacDermid (San Francisco, Calif. / Lick-Wilmanding), and Zolnak came in with a time of 1:44.15. In the 4x400m relay, the team of MacDermid, MacMullin, Gardner, and Maci clocked in at 3:47.92.
The Eagles return to action, Sunday February 10th for the DuCharme Invitational hosted by Dickinson.
