Over his first 11 seasons at the helm of Juniata men's basketball, Greg Curley has notched the most wins of any coach in program history.

That's the level of success Juniata has achieved under Curley's tutelage, and reflects the level of commitment he has brought to the task of making Juniata men's basketball a perennial contender in the Landmark Conference. Curley took over the post as the Juniata men's basketball coach prior to the 2001-02 season, and he will be looking to add to the program's list of achievements as he enters his 12th season in 2012-13.

The 2011-12 campaign proved to be among the most successful in Juniata history, as the Eagles posted a program-best 19-10 record on their way to a third conference tournament championship game appearance over the last six seasons. Juniata capped the year by reaching the ECAC South Region Tournament semifinals, the second time the Curley-led Eagles have accomplished the feat.

Curley, along with assistants Nick Hager and Keith Black, were named the Landmark’s 2012 Coaching Staff of the Year, while senior Dan Sekulski and junior Alex Raymond earned All-Landmark honors. The 2011-12 season marked Juniata’s fifth winning season with Curley at the helm, and the Eagles’ third .500-or-better campaign in the last six seasons.

Curley has the second-highest winning percentage of any men's coach at Juniata, and in 2010 he eclipsed Juniata legend Arnold "Doc" Greene for the most coaching victories in men's basketball history. He enters the 2012-13 campaign with a Juniata and career record of 136-149 over 11 seasons.

During Curley's 11 years as the Juniata head coach, the Eagles have enjoyed some of the most successful seasons in the program's recent history.

In 2006-07, Curley was named the Commonwealth Conference Coach of the Year as he guided Juniata to a program-record 17 victories. The Eagles finished 17-12 and reached the Commonwealth Conference Championship game for the first time in program history. The Eagles also reached the ECAC South Region Tournament Semifinals, after posting the program's first postseason win in the quarterfinals.

The Eagles nearly matched all those achievements in 2007-08, posting a 17-11 record, reaching the Landmark Conference title game against the University of Scranton, and earning an ECAC South Region tournament bid.

Juniata has posted winning records in four of Curley's nine seasons, with back-to-back 13-12 records in his second and third campaigns. Those two seasons marked the first time since the late '80s that the Eagles have had consecutive winning seasons. Under his direction Juniata has adopted the philosophy of being the "hardest working team in basketball."

In addition to guiding the Eagle men's basketball program, Curley was named Juniata's Director of Athletics on May 17, 2011, with responsibility for the development and operation of Juniata's 19 varsity sports, as well as its intramural sports program.

Curley is no stranger to Juniata, having worked here for three seasons (August 1996 to July 1999) as an assistant men’s basketball coach. He was responsible for all aspects of recruiting throughout the Northeast. In addition, he worked as a resident director and a summer conference assistant.

He left Juniata in July of 1999 to become the assistant men's basketball coach and head golf coach at Penn State-Behrend. Before the start of the 1999-2000 basketball season, he returned to his alma mater, Allegheny College, as an assistant varsity coach and head junior varsity coach for the men's basketball program.

A native of State College, Pa., Curley graduated from Allegheny College in May of 1995 with a bachelor's degree in history and a minor in English. He was a four-time Allegheny College Scholar-Athlete, and earned four varsity letters on the men's basketball team. He was a member of the 1992-93 North Coast Athletic Conference championship team and played in the 1995 NAIA-NCAA Senior All-Star Game. Curley was elected as a team captain and received the Glen Thompson Award for Leadership as a senior.

He earned a master's degree in Sports Administration from Penn State University in December 1997.

Curley's coaching career began in 1995 when he served as the graduate assistant coach at Allegheny for the 1995-96 season. One year later, he became the assistant at Juniata.

Curley resides in Huntingdon with his wife Jenn.
