HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team needed two overtimes and eventually a shootout to take down Washington & Jefferson, 2-1, on a cold night at Knox Stadium.
Katie Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) tallied the lone goal for the Eagles during regulation while Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) tallied one assist for the game. The Eagles took two shots in the first half, but neither found the back of the cage. A minute into the second half, their fortunes changed as G. Alexander setup K. Alexander to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. The Presidents tied the score with eight minutes remaining, and forcing the game into overtime. The teams remained deadlocked, so the game went into a shootout.
