Juniata football picked 10th in Centennial preseason poll
Juniata College was picked to finish 10th in the 2012 Centennial Conference football race, when the league’s preseason poll was release in conjunction with the Centennial’s annual football kickoff celebration.
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College was picked to finish 10th in the 2012 Centennial Conference football race, when the league's preseason poll was release in conjunction with the Centennial's annual football kickoff celebration.
Juniata, 1-9 overall and 1-8 in the Centennial a year ago, received 19 points in the poll.
Johns Hopkins sits atop the poll with 153 points and 14 first-place votes. Ursinus received four first-place votes on its way to 137 points, while Muhlenberg was third with one first-place vote and 126 points.
Gettysburg (96), Susquehanna (92), Franklin & Marshall (85), Dickinson (71), McDaniel (68), Moravian (53), and Juniata rounded out the poll.
The Eagles return 37 letterwinners and 14 starters – seven on offense, six on defense, and one on special teams – to the lineup, including Second Team All-Centennial linebacker Kevin Gorman (Waverly, N.Y./Waverly Central).
Juniata opens its 2012 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 1, when it faces Thiel College in Greenville, Pa. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
