Blazer's Bats Lead Them Past Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata baseball team suffered a 14-3 defeat at the hands of Hood College, Wednesday afternoon at Langdon-Goodale field.  

Hood put up seven runs across the first four innings, using four doubles to power the early surge, as the Eagles fell behind early.  

In the bottom of the fourth Adam Kipp (Mt. Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) smashed a triple to right center. Isaac Maclay (Belleville, Pa. / Mifflin County High School) followed with a single down the right field line to score Kipp. 

The Blazers continued to score as they put up two runs in the fifth and the sixth inning. The Eagles managed to prevent them from scoring in the seventh but they got back on the board in the final two innings, tallying two runs in the eighth and another in the ninth. 

In the bottom of the ninth the Eagles managed to score two of their own. Casey Fellinger (Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill HS) scored from third as William Chickillo (North Abington Twp., Pa. / Abington Heights) reached on fielder's choice. Ben Raab (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy), who advanced to third on the previous play, scored on a wild pitch to complete the scoring. 

Juniata will host Moravian this weekend. First pitch is Saturday at 12:30.
