As a basketball center George Weber was team captain in 1939-40, when he earned All-Conference and honorable mention All-State recognition. A four-year member of the football team, he was a two-way end and captain during his senior season. A four-year standout in track and field, he ran the third leg for Juniata's record-setting relay team that won the Middle Atlantic Conference mile at the Penn Relays in both 1938 and 1939. He also held the individual school record for the 880-yard run, finished second in that event at the 1940 MAC Championships, and as a senior led the track and field team with 82 points.
