A triple-threat, single-wing football quarterback, Ed Grega was a Little All-American and All-State selection from 1938-40, and among the top scorers in Pennsylvania football during his career on College Hill. A three-year letter winner in basketball, he was better known as an outstanding baseball player and was captain of the diamond squad as a senior. He was considered a professional prospect as a second baseman, but an injury suffered during his senior football season hurt his throwing arm.
