Dr. T. Arnold Greene
In a dozen seasons as men's basketball coach from 1949-61, Doc Greene's Juniata squads produced some of the school's most exciting players and record-setters, and posted 103 wins. The only Juniata basketball coach with 100 career victories, his best squad came in 1953-54 with a 15-6 mark during a stretch of five consecutive winning seasons from 1953-59. He served as head baseball coach in 1954 and also offered volunteer assistance to the Juniata football program. A local dentist, "Doc" was an outstanding athlete who played in the 1937 Rose Bowl for Coach Jock Sutherland's University of Pittsburgh squad and professional baseball for the Cincinnati Reds organization. In 1992, Juniata established an annual men's basketball tournament in his honor.
