Jennifer Jones

Bio

Jennifer Jones is entering her second year as the Director of Sports Information.  She oversees athletic communications for all 19 NCAA Division III sports at the college.

"We are very excited to add Jennifer to our staff," said Athletic Director Greg Curley.  "Given all the advances in technology and the continued growth of our athletic department, how we market and present ourselves as a department is more important now than ever.  We think Jennifer's creativity, energy and expertise make her the right person to help keep us moving in the right direction."

Jones comes to Juniata from the athletic communications department of Fresno State (Fresno, Calif.).

She has spent the past four years working in external relations at the NCAA Division I level.  Her professional athletics career includes sports information, athletic marketing and video production experience.

She recently attended the University of the Pacific (Stockton, Calif.) for a master's in sports management while working in the athletics department.  During her time with the Tigers, Jones initiated a plan to build up the video production department and was instrumental in marketing the women’s basketball team’s first sell out game in program history.

Jones is no stranger to Division III athletics.  A 2006 graduate of Hood College (Frederick, Md.), she played volleyball, basketball and softball for the Blazers and earned all-conference nods in multiple sports.  She was also a member of the 2006 softball conference championship team and is among the all-time stats leaders in volleyball and softball at Hood.

"Her experience at all levels of collegiate athletics and her background as a very successful Division III student-athlete have prepared her well to lead our sports information department," added Curley.
