David assumed the role of Sports Information Director on August 15, 2014. He came to Juniata from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY where he was the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for three years. He was the primary contact for football, field hockey, women's soccer, women's tennis, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's basketball, men's lacrosse, and Division I women's water polo while also covering women's volleyball and men's and women's cross country during his time there. He assisted the Sports Information Director in the hosting of three Empire 8 Conference Tournaments and two NCAA Division III Tournaments (Men’s and Women’s Basketball), handling all live in-game statistics at all five events.
Prior to Hartwick, Heberger was the Sports Information Assistant at Union College in Schenectady, NY during the 2010-11 season. His main responsibilites included writing and submitting game stories and compiling and maintaining statistics for the Division I women's ice hockey team, men's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's crew, and baseball. He also assisted with Division I men's hockey, men's and women's basketball, and men's lacrosse.
Before Union, he was the Assistant Sports Information Director at SUNY Potsdam from 2008-2010. Heberger handled statistics and wrote press releases for all 13 sports.
From 2007-08, he interned at the University of Rochester.
The Rochester, NY native has degrees in Computer Science from SUNY Brockport in 2004 and Sports Management from St. John Fisher College in 2008.
Heberger is a member of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA) and the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA).
